The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu concludes her season and plans to retain trainer for 2026.
Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events this year.
Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year due to a health issue she has been battling over the past 10 days.
Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to regain her health before starting her preparations for 2026.
Those preparations are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.
Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.
She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.
Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu because of back discomfort that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.
Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.
Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.
The player achieved 28 victories during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
The British number one reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.
She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.
The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.
Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
