The Two Fatalities Revealed in Brown University Shooting as Law Enforcement Press On With Hunt for Gunman.

The pair of scholars who lost their lives in the recent tragic incident in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – while an intensive search for their shooter continued following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect detained in connection in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

Her role included vice-president of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also expressed condolences on social media, stating: “There are no words. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”

An International Student

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the Ivy League university, his family confirmed.

His name was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a memorial statement.

Details of the Attack

Nine other people were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the school of engineering of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said late Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a police operation at a Hampton Inn about around 27 kilometers from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.

“A perpetrator remains free,” declared Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
